what if someone wants to work from home
My employee wanted to work from home.
I hired them because I trusted them.
Not to micromanage them.
They started to explain.
Stop. No need.
When you choose to work from home.
1. You don't have to explain yourself.
2. I don't need details.
An employees' contribution is not measured by the amount of time s/he sits in a physical office at a particular address.
Do you want to send emails from the doctors office?
Perfect!
Are you productive while you're on the road?
Amazing!
Are the commutes too long?
Totally get it!
Have to pick up kids from school?
Great!
I don't need to know if you want to work from home because you get more done, concentrate better, have a doctor's appointment, are expecting a delivery.
I don't need you to answer emails after hours.
I don't need you to "finish this up over the weekend".
The workplace has become overly micromanaged.
You can choose how you want to get your work done.
Employees are people.
An employee should never have to apologize for having a personal life.
Work life integration > work life balance.
You don't need to clock in or clock out.
If you...
- Finish the work that's required
- Follow through on your commitments
- Keep our customers happy
That's all I need.
